Roof repair or replace?
Deciding between repairing or replacing your roof comes down to age, extent of damage and cost.
Rule of thumb
If the roof is near the end of its life, has widespread damage, or the repair would approach a third of replacement, replacing is usually better.
When to repair
Small, isolated leaks, missing shingles or localised damage on a relatively new roof are worth repairing.
When to replace
Extensive damage, repeated leaks, delamination, or a roof past its material lifespan point to replacement.
