Do this now

  1. Stop using sinks, tubs, toilets and the washing machine immediately.
  2. Turn off the main water supply.
  3. Keep people and pets away from the affected water.

Don't do this

  • Don't wade in or touch contaminated water without gloves.
  • Don't flush — it can back up further.

High — shut off water and call a plumber or a sewer service.

Limit the damage

  • Saturate towels or use a wet/dry vacuum to remove water (wear gloves).
  • Ventilate the space and run fans.
  • Document everything for insurance.
